Casa Maya (authentic homestay)

Today we decided to stay in the guest room of a typical Mayan family. As there was no sign showing where the apartment is we looked a little lost, till a little girl ran to the fence of her home and yelled at us "¿Caaaasaaa mayaaaa?" As soon as her two brothers saw us they also ran to the main door followed by a few barking dogs and some scared chicken.

We also had dinner with the family and Esmeralda showed us how to prepare 'sleeping eggs' and tortilla.Read more
