Arrived to first day of rain thunder lightning. No walk. In morning walked beach then trig walk 40mins up. Move to Haast.

Stayed at Merino shop 2 nights with 5 others. Road cycle track to beach and back by road. Met Linda + Grant Bolt spraying weeds. Dinner at their place.

Stayed 2 nights at campground. Bike to shop. Happy hour drinks with Laura and Billy. Walked Rob Roy glacier walk. 10km. Met Franzi for dinner.

Staying at Low burn free camp on lake front. Walked to town. Next day did Nevis Road coming out by Kingston and home via Queenstown. Next day Dunstan trail from Cornish Point to Dunstan rowing club. 49km return with head winds both ways.Read more

Milford Track

Parked at Te Anau campsite night before start of walk next day. Did sea plane ride around Lake in afternoon. Bus to Te Anau down's to catch boat to Glade walk. 1.6km to Glade Lodge then 1 1/2hr nature walk before dinner. 48 in our group + 4 guides.
Next day 16 mainly flat walk to Pomona lodge by 2pm.
Day 3 early start 7.40 walk up McKinnon pass steep to 1100 m Pack Hutt lunch. Drink at memorial point in cold alpine weather. Down through rocks. At Quintin lodge by 2.30. Rob walked to Sutherland falls and had swim there.
Day 4 early walk to end. Mainly flat but 22km. Got in 2.30 for boat from Sand fly point. 16 and 22 out of group. Boat to Milford.
Last morning boat trip around sound for 2 hrs. Dolphins. Back to Te Anau 12.30.Read more

Drove down to Dunedin holiday park. Caught free bus to Stadium to see Rod Stewart with Jon Stevens and Cyndi Lauper.
Next day cold. Drive to Albatross sanctuary and only saw them way out.

Stayed here 2 night. Did bush walk around camp and Nugget point lighthouse and penguin beach next day. Didn't see penguins but saw falcon flying above us.

Stayed 1 night looking between bay and sea. Petrified wood on rocks 1 side and beach where hector dolphins swim on other.

Stayed 3 nights at Johan and Joyce's. Day 3 did jet boat ride across Lake Hauroko and down Wairaurahiri River to sea. Lunch at Waitutu Lodge.

Drove to Mortal tge way of rail trail. Coffee at Ranfurly. Saying at camp. Drove to see Boulders then walk around headlands and saw several sea lions.

Stayed at A n P showgrounds. Went beach road to get to Oamaru stopping at beaches on way. Kevin Learned found us there. Drink with them then dinner at Scott's pizza bar. Helped shift stock and drench calves before leaving for Chch.Read more
