I was in Buxar to attend my friend's wedding and I decided to explore Banaras as it was close to Buxar (200 km) . I reached Banaras in the evening. After checking into the hostel I went to the nearby Ghat which was Chowki Ghat. At night I was sitting alone and there I met a guy named Vaibhav who was from a different part of Up with whom I talked for a long time , it was not small talk but we talked about self development, spirituality and life's existence. I said goodbye to him at 11:30 pm and came back to the room.Læs mere

Day 2 at Banaras

In the morning I went to explore the ghats and sat at one ghat for a longer period of time. Then I came back to the hostel and took a bath. I went to visit Kashi Vishwanath temple and then went to the Ganga Arti and clicked some street photographs. After the Arti I came back to the room and slept .Læs mere

Day 3

I was very confused about what to do next, so I went to the Hostel common area where I met two Italians Lorenzo and Michelle , we talked and had some cigrates together. I tried Italian cigarettes and I also met a group of Tamilian. They made me try something new which I won't tell here and then it made me high and I slept. I woke up at 2 pm and then I decided to visit Sarnath . I booked a rapido which was cost effective. I went to the Buddhist temples of different monasteries and clicked some pictures. After coming back from the Sarnath I went to Hostel common area and met Lorenzo . We decided to go to visit Manikarnika ghat and then we had dinner. He walks very fast as he was preparing for the Annapurna Base camp trek , I managed his speed thanks to my strava walks . We came back and decided to explore the ghats in the morning. I went to sleep after smoking h**h with the tamil guys.Læs mere

Last day at Banaras

It was my last day , Lorenzo woke me up at 4:30 am . We went to the ghats and we visited Manikarnika again in the morning. After that we planned to see the Sunrise, but midway he returned to the room because of some morning emergency. I enjoyed the Sunrise there and talked to the locals there . After returning to the room I freshened up and prepared for a boat ride as this was a thing I wanted to do so I went to Assi Ghat for the boat ride. I sat on a boat and the boat took us to Namo Ghat which is the end of all the ghats . I clicked some awesome pictures and then the boat dropped me at Mir ghat . I came back to the room and said goodbye to Lorenzo and Michelee and then checked out . After that I booked a rapido and went back to the station and I boarded the train. It was such a nice experience which I would never forget. Banaras is quite good for the backpackers and truth seekers.Læs mere
