    Upper Stoney Creek

    May 16–17, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

A lovely location for an overnight stay next to Stoney Creek in Byfield National Park (apart from mosquitoes around sunset). A short walk along the creek leads to some rapids, as well as some deeper areas where the water is crystal clear. Unfortunately, you need to take care when swimming, as the creek is inhabited by stone fish
Interestingly this park is adjacent to the Shoalwater Bay Training Area. We could hear occasional bursts of thunder-like sounds throughout the afternoon and the next morning while there.
