In the first morning we walked around the botanical gardens along with the surrounding wall and Almedalen that hosts Sweden's biggest political event one week every summer.

More personal was a surprise visit to a childhood friend of my father, Lia, and her partner Peter. Seeing someone so touched to meet my father, along with learning about someone that is important to him, was a beautiful experience.Read more

Churches whole and ruined

Visby was once the most church-dense town in Sweden (and beyond?). Many of them are now ruins, but as such they still have great charm and make for peaceful places.

I'm not the best in spending the time and taking care of my elders. It felt good to take grandpa on a longer stroll to spots with beauty to behold for both of our tastes.Read more
