Colombia 🇨🇴 to Panama 🇵🇦

Just 25nm SW of Cartagena, we made Isla Grande our first stop. It was a super picturesque anchorage, with a narrow cut through the reef as the only channel. Once inside the reef, it was muy muy tranquilo watching the sunset, the nearly full moon.

Shortly after midnight, however, the worst thunder and lightning storm we’ve experienced descended upon us. Although the torrential rain only lasted 15 minutes, the lightning and thunder persisted until sunrise the next morning. Some of the lightning bolts seemed close enough to touch. It’s a miracle our mast wasn’t hit.

The water at Isla Grande was clean but rather turbid, or we might have stayed two nights.Leer más
