    Day trip to Sintra

    3 de agosto de 2017, Portugal ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Dane and I went for a morning run along the waterfront. My first run in a long time and it felt good, but my foot still hurt. We had breakfast and caught the train out to Sintra. There was a little market set up as we walked into town. We had a cherry liquor in a chocolate cup and started the hike up to the Castello dos Mouros. It was fun to walk around the walls with views out to the other Palaces in the town. We then hiked up to Pena Palace which was the best example of the Romanticism style of Architecture. There was a strong use of primary colours, comical statues and ceramic tiles used throughout and the roofs had a lot of detail. We walked through the gardens of the palace before heading back to Lisbon. We ate dinner at a trendy new venue which offered multiple different cuisines. My meal of macadamia crusted salmon with quinoa, watercress and citrus was delicious.Leer más
