Franschhoek

We had a good trip from Cape Town, skirting the slopes of Table Mountain before entering the mountains . Our guest house was of the typical Cape Dutch style built in 1870 with ornate wrought iron fretwork. Apparently it used to be thatched. On arrival Anne went for a swim in the pool and we both chilled out on the loungers in the garden. In the evening we went to the Bon Vivante restaurant and had a delicious ‘chefs surprise’ four course dinner and Anne had the matching wines.

After a tasty breakfast on the hotel courtyard we had a quick look around the local craft market before heading off to Babylonstoren for a delicious lunch and an interesting cellar tour with wine tasting.Read more
