    ☑️ Did you know that the film set of Popeye is in Malta?!?
    Popeye Village, also known as Sweethaven Village, was built as a film set for the 1980 musical production "Popeye" produced by Paramount Pictures and Walt Disney Productions.
    It is located in Anchor Bay, just 3 kilometers from Mellieha village and was built in 1979.
    The village consists of nineteen wooden buildings.
    Filming for the musical production began on January 23, 1980.
    Today the film set has been transformed into a tourist attraction and is open to the public as an open-air museum and family entertainment complex year-round.

    ☑️ From 1802 to 1964, San Anton Palace was the official residence of the British governor, after which it remained a state building and is now the residence of the Maltese president.
    Various heads of state have visited the gardens over the years, and numerous plaques commemorate the ceremonial planting of the trees.
    The garden is a botanical delight with mature trees, old stone urns, fountains, ponds and formal flowerbeds

    📣 Great part of the first series of Game of Thrones, which was filmed in some areas of Malta.

    A memorable scene was when the sadistic King Geoffrey, to reaffirm his power over the still submissive Sansa Stark, brought the promise bride along the walls of Red Keep to show her the heads of all victims death by decapitation ⚔️

    ☑️ On a hill in the center of the island of Malta stands one of the best preserved fortified cities in Europe: Mdina, the ancient capital of Malta.
    Also known as Medina, the "Old City" or the "Silent City" due to the tranquility of its alleys, it has the title of Notable City.
    It still retains a monumental appearance, although it is now inhabited by a few hundred people

    📣 Malta was a crown colony British, which existed between 1813 and 1964.
    It was used as a trading base and as headquarters for the fleet, especially for due to its geographical position in the middle road between Gibraltar and the Isthmus of Suez on the route to the East Indies.
    To date, Malta is a Republic, but the driving is left on the left!

    Great part of the first series of Game of Thrones, which was filmed in some areas of Malta.

    The iconic portal fronted by a honey-colored stone bridge through which Lady Stark also passes on horseback when she joins her husband in King's Landing, is actually the entrance gate to Mdina, the ancient capital of Malta.
    The city monument also in others places like Pjazza Mesquita was protagonist of many scenes set in King's Landing ⚔️

    ☑️ The catacombs are the largest among the numerous other types of hypogea present in the area.
    The main complex consists of two large halls, with Doric-style pillars upon columns and painted plasterwork that has been worn away by time.
    There are also two tables obtained from a single piece of rock, which resemble the reclining beds used in Roman tricliniums.
    According to scholars, these artefacts were used to make meals during the anniversary in memory of the deceased
