    Ravensthorpe

    September 18, 2018 in Australia

Spent the day at Ravensthorpe, about 60 klms from Fitzgeral National Park. Went to the Wild Flower Show and got some more photos of wild flowers. Unfortunately, I forgot to use my macro lens so a lot of them didn’t turn out to my usual standard.
Bought a very nice sausage roll and a great coffee from the Bread & Butter Café for lunch. Took a drive out to Kukanarep Memorial, the site where many Noongar people were killed in retaliation for one white man being killed. Nyunger people talk of the massacre that took place there. The memorial tells the story from the remaining indigenous peoples. Many beautiful wild flowers, including some orchards. Again, I forgot to use my macro lens so a lot of the photos are not as good as they could have been.
Came back to the camp site in the afternoon, again spending it in the tent due to misty rain. I processed the photos I’d taken and Mick finished the last book he’d brought with him for the trip.
