Day 14

Sitting in the airport now about to board for flight number one to Dubai (11 hours 20 mins!)
Today we got up in the hotel and managed to see Mount Fuji in the distance from the bed in our room as it was a clear day! We decided to maximise our time in the hotel so we went for another swim and spa for a couple of hours and got back to the room at around 11. We then said goodbye to our views and handed our luggage for the hotel to hold onto as our flight doesn’t depart until 10.30pm our time!

We then got the metro into Tokyo centre to go and see a robot cafe that Sinead had booked prior. It was a weird experience and a bit creepy as we had a robot at our table with a camera built in answering our questions and chatting with us (we assumed it wasn’t AI and someone else on the other end) I kept asking to blink if they were held hostage but no response. A robot came out and delivered us our drinks which was cool and asked us to take them from him!

After the cafe we walked 45 mins into town (25 degrees and sun) and went to try the fluffy pancakes which everyone loves in Japan! Sinéad had already had some but I had been ill so was keen to try them! We had to wait about an hour to get in as it was so popular! I had pancakes with chocolate sauce and banana and was delicious! You could see the kitchen there was like a well oiled machine. Everyone had their own job and not one person was chatting!

After pancakes we walked back to the hotel to pick up our luggage and made the long trip to Narita airport which is 2 hours outside of Tokyo! After some stressful moments and some brief running with big suitcases we made it on time and ahead of schedule! We had some amazing ramen in the airport and are now waiting to board for the flight to Dubai! Hoping for no delays and a smooth flight 🤞もっと詳しく
