Lunch stop

Our lunch stop was in the artisan town of Navarrete. We stopped in at the church too mass was going on so we snuck in the back to look at the old museum vestments.

Last stop before we get to our stay

This is the last stop for the day until we arrive to our destination for the night. No shade, no water, and still 10km to go.

Just another 1/2 mile to the country club for lunch and then another 1/2 mile to where we have booked for the night. It’s hot! Glad we scheduled a shorter day
Dinner and a bed

Tonight we stay in a small town where they both own the albergue, private room place and the bar/restaurant. Good food and most comfortable beds of the trip though!

Truck Stop

Pilgrim stop Villafranca

A rainy cool morning and a mountain ahead means we did 20k today but have stopped before the mountain. The last two nights have been alburgues by pilgrims for pilgrims in mind when they created them.
Foggy incline

Today was a foggy start to the morning and what felt like a straight up the mountain incline. In reality it was 500m incline in 5km.
Spanish Civil War Monument

This was along the way today. It’s a monument to those who were executed during the Spanish Civil War and placed in shallow graves. Somber with the fog today.
Wildflower Beauty

This was a great little gem of a find for lunch today. And it shows how close we are getting to the next big city of Burgos!
A pilgrim stop for sure

This hangs in the entry way of the albergue we are staying in tonight. Can’t wait for community dinner. The kitchen smells amazing! This was a nice hidden gem NOT in the guide book.
