    Terminal 2

    2024年8月29日, イングランド ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

12pm, cars packed and we're off.

First treat of the holidays was a stop at Five Guys in Middlebrook, Bolton.
Roy went to TK Maxx to get a pair of sliders (he can never have too much footwear) while me and Kairo order double cheeseburger, hot dog, fries and a lemon Fanta. Kairos lunch was less exciting - banana and apple puree.

In no time we were arriving at Manchester and flew through check in and security. After 5 laps of duty free we headed to the airport bar for the obligatory pint. Roy trawled the shops again while Kairo had a feed and a micro nap while i watched some aeroplanes.

At this point estimated flight time was 18.30 and by 18.00 we were called to start boarding. Our tickets were scanned we made our way down the corridor then we were stopped by crew. 30 mins we were kept waiting and tempers were fraying. Babies all around us were getting agitated, parents too. Next minute we were all getting recalled back. There was an issue with a plane. Tech had been called but if they couldnt fix it they were talking about vouchers, new planes and overnight stays. We could've cried.

Luckily 20 mins later the plane was fixed, a bag had been trapped into the air con but a quick removal and reset had down the job. Over two hour later we finally were in the air. It had been such a long ordeal it had even put Roy off having a drink on the plane. Kairo was the best we could've hoped for and slept most the time. He wasn't even bothered by the turburlance.

It was 2am before we were checked into our hotel room. Safe to say we went straight to bed!

  • Agadir Day 1

    2024年8月30日, モロッコ ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Despite our late bed time we were up and ready for breakfast by 9am.
Kairo had his first try of tinned pear which he enjoyed. He was fussed over by the staff but wasn't he smiley self, think the tiredness was still there.

Roy wasn't happy with the room (as always) because there was polyfilla in the bath. To be fair it also smelt a bit musty so I let him complain and we were told we would be moved. While we waited we headed towards agadir souk, Roy had the works done at the barber while me and Kairo got our steps in wandering the streets.

Once Roy was done we had a quick hour of the market and then headed back to the hotel for a late lunch. Kairo had another first - pumpkin and it went down a treat. By this time our new room was ready so we went up for a quick change into swim gear.

Kairo loved pool time, the floating squid was a win and kept him occupied before we took him in his boat car for a spin. He loved it.

Dinner was a lovely affair, Kairo got really excited about brocolli. We watched the entertainment and he fell into the deepest sleep. A perfect first day

  • Agadir Day 2

    2024年8月31日, モロッコ ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

The day started off overcast with sea mist in the air. How I wish Dad was here because it would've been perfect mountain walking weather.
Instead I managed to persuade Roy to go on a walk to the Marina and back. He got to see his mate who owns a shop there and show off Kairo like the proud Dad he is.

We got back to the hotel around 1 found some sun beds, had a coffee then headed for lunch. Once again Kairo was met with a Princes welcome by the staff.... I think Roy's starting to get jealous.

Kairo and Roy went for a swim while I got half an hour of sunbathing in. The boys had a nap then it was time for more playing in the pool. It's so good that there's shallow bits where Kairo can just sit down and play with his toys.

About 5pm me and Kairo went to the room while Roy stayed down for a drink and a chat. That's where the trouble began. Kranky Kairo. He would just not nap, he was whining, nipping me, biting me, tugging on me. He just didn't know what he wanted. I ended up calling Roy back to the room but he couldn't settle him either.

By 7pm we had no choice but just forget the nap and go to dinner. He managed to keep it together to eat some pasta before kicking off. I took him up to the room where I ended up putting him in his cot and locking myself in the bathroom. It only took 5 mins and he cried himself to sleep. Mum guilt hit hard but at least he was down.

Roys going out with a few of the workers tonight so hopefully me and little man can get a good few hours in without his snoring waking us!

  • Agadir Day 3

    2024年9月1日, モロッコ ⋅ 🌫 23 °C

Another overcast morning meant me and Kairo could go another walk leaving daddy to sleep after not getting in until 3am.
I turned left at the beach and walked to the end and back. It always amazes me how clean the promenade and how well cared for the flowers and plants are.
We had a little break watching one of the many local families playing football on the sand before heading back.

The boys had a micro nap he managed ten minutes before his FOMO kicked in.
Ah the glamorous days before kids when you could chill on a sunbed in peace, read your book, have a nap. No chance with Mr wriggle bottom. Always on the go. And most of mine and Roy's conversations center around whether Kairos had enough wet nappies and if he's too hot.
We then had a lovely ten minutes chatting to Grandpops and Nannie. Kairo was very confused as to where the voices were coming from but it didn't take him long to cotton on and give them big smiles. We can't wait for a time we're on holiday all together. Hopefully Kairos more chill by then!

Another 20 mins micro nap and it was swim time. Of course in his LFC swimsuit. After an hour playing in the pool it was time for the match. The boys headed down to match while I got a well earned hours peace. Unfortunately I was woken up by the towel woman, then the mini bar man, before Roy came back 20 mins before end of match as Kairo was grouchy.

And Kairo fought his sleep. I took over and took him out for another hour prom walk. And he stayed wide awake. By the time we headed down for tea he'd been awake 5 hours. He had 5 mouthfuls of food, started crying, I picked him up and it was like a light went out. He absolutely zonked out.

After a successful pram transfer me and Roy then got to enjoy our night like the old days. We ate our whole meal (Roy got a specifically made spicy beef pizza cos he's Roy) and I had a little bit of everything.
Afterwards we got to watch the entertainment show from a hired in Latino show with some questionable looking muscly women. We laughed, had a cheeky gin and chatted away while lil man slept. Some proper quality time did us good.

  • Agadir Day 4

    2024年9月2日, モロッコ ⋅ ☁️ 22 °C

Last time we were here we would've been fuming at this weather, funny how priorities change when you have a baby.

It was cloudy all day so we decide to hire a car and do a shopping day. We went to the Inezgane Souk for a traditional experience and then went to McDonald's and Carefour for a European experience. I had a honey mustard chicken wrap but it was average, not as zingy as I'd like.

We got back to the hotel late afternoon. Roy had organised a romantic surprise for me, as he'd had told the manager he wasn't very good to me all the time haha. It was nice to feel appreciated. Kairo had slept a lot while we were out so was full of beans. Even trying his best to climb the stairs. After letting him have a mad hour or so we went back out in the car.

This time to a place called Salam where a few of the workers live. We even met a few there. It was good to see the area from their point of view. And look at more shops for Roy.

Back at the hotel we had tea and watched the local singer before am earlyish night for all

  • Agadir Day 5

    2024年9月3日, モロッコ ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

We skipped breakfast this morning and decided to go straight to the Souk el had. There I managed to get a necklace for each of the girls as I'm sure by now everyone's had enough Moroccan fridge magnets.

The sun was out when we got back so we spent a good couple of hours by the pool. Roy took a couple of workers out for a Yemeni lunch so it was just me and my boy.
After a splash about, we went up to the room, bathed, shared a peach and a biscuit and then I was hoping for a little nap but little man had other ideas. He had a good feral hour climbing all over me, giggling away before then getting grouchy so I got us dressed and went for a lovely stroll to the Marina and back.

When we arrived at the room it was time for a quick change as Roy had surprised us with booking into the Krystal restaurant. (I think he was feeling guilty for leaving us again for the afternoon).
Kairo had fallen asleep by then so we managed to have our fizz, tapas and starter just the two of us which was nice.
Once he was awake, Kairo approved of the spiralised garlic veg and gave plenty of thumbs up. The steak was really good and my dessert - a strawberry and vanilla mille fulle pastry was to die for.

Afterwards we had a fruit smoothie and watched the rock show (which was pretty rubbish but hey it was fun to laugh at)

  • Agadir Day 6

    2024年9月4日, モロッコ ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

7am wake up was provided courtesy of Kairo. I was knackered so Roy took him out for a drive so I could get a couple hours more sleep in!

The morning was spent with family pool time. Kairo had a good dunk and swim about, while giving everyone in the pool smiled of course.

At 2.30 Roy had arranged to meet Hasim (one of the workers) and drive to this shop he wanted to go near his house. At least this time me and Kairo were invited to!
We spent a couple of hours noseying about the streets then drove to the cable cars. It was a novel experience to get to the top other than walking.
So much had changed up there it was much cleaner, there was a play park for kids and the castle was built.
Kairo loved the cable cars and wasn't scared at all, but the way he trys to launch himself off the bed at times, I don't think he's developed depth perception.

It was 8pm by the time we got back to the hotel so it was a quick tea and then an early night for us all.

  • Last day

    2024年9月5日, モロッコ ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

We all woke up with holiday blues, this week has gone by far too quick.
After my favourite breakfast of Arabic bread with honey & fruit alongside a coffee we headed out.
Me and Kairo did a walk to a park and wandered around there while Roy had a pedicure.

We then headed back to the hotel for our last few hours of sunshine. Roy had got the room extended for us for free so at 3pm we headed back up for a shower, change and finish packing.

We'd arrange to keep the hire car today and the guy would drive with us the airport.
So at 4.30 we said our goodbyes at the hotel, loaded the car up with our mountain of bags and headed out to a flea market for more noseying. To be fair though, neither of us have bought a lot this holiday to say the amount of time out at shops we've spent!

By 6.30 Roy was getting hungry so decided to go get a KFC rather than getting food in the airport. I'd been sensible and made sandwiches for myself and a bowl of fruit for Kairo so we were sorted. On his way to the bin Roy found a wallet on top of a car and decided to be a good samariton and hand it into the police. However it turned out to be a traumatic event for all and left us running late.

We still beat the coach to the airport and whizzed through check in and security. We were delayed by 40 mins due to an incident at man airport. It was a long 40 mins trying to keep a very tired Kairo awake and distracting him from his want for a feed.

Once we got on the plane he got his milk and got to sleep. He really does travel well and we're proud of his ability to adjust and go with the flow.

While this was Kairos first Morocco trip, I know for sure, it won't be his last!
