Turns out they are in the process of upgrading the perimeter fence for security purposes. Last time I was able to go right up to the fence. Not the case this time.

ПутешественникWe took an evening drive to see the White House at night. Michael ran from street parking to the fence. John was afraid he looked suspicious and we would get us arrested. Matthew had to pee and the only place we could find was a port-a-potty at a construction site near the White House. Dzzt!!
Bonnie BenedictThey’ve got a barricade and no mans land between the White House and visitors while the fence is being replaced. I remember going right up to the fence, too. Not to pee surprisingly enough. :-)
