Camooweal Billabong

We spent the morning doing the “Hard Times” underground mine tour in Mt Isa. We began above ground where Mark, our guide, gave us a potted history of mining in the Isa. It was then into the cage and down to the mine. He showed us various aspects of mining over the years before we had morning tea in one of the Cribs (lunchrooms).

After lunch we headed 195 km to one of our favourite spots, Camooweal Billabong where we got a spot right on the water. The bird life was amazing.Read more
