Santa Cruz Island 2 - Black Turtle Cove

After breakfast on the Eden, we are taken by panga boats to Black Turtle Cove; this is a mangrove estuary on the northern shores of Santa Cruz Island (to protect the pristine environment, the national park does not allow boats with motors here). It is a natural sanctuary for Galápagos green sea turtles, white-tipped reef sharks, rays, pelicans, herons, and egrets.

We have a good look round by panga, seeing lots of marine life; then it's back to the Eden to navigate to Dragon Hill (Cerro Dragon) to see land life.....Read more
