This is a pilgrim certificate from Sahagún on the Camino Francés.
    It says:
"Let it be known to all who see this Pilgrim's Letter that Daniel Howes has passed through the lands of León at Sahagún, the geographical centre of the French Way of St James."
It then quotes the medieval Codex Calixtinus, describing the area as a place rich in good things, where victorious warriors once planted their shining spears in the ground in honour of God.
    The certificate continues:
"And as witness, he has found rest for the fatigue of the body and relief for the soul."
The people of Sahagún then offer encouragement:
"The inhabitants of this noble town encourage him to continue his journey and arrive safely at the house of Saint James, where we hope he will remember the welcome we have given him."
    Finally:
"So that this may be recorded and shown to whoever requests it, this document is issued in Sahagún on 29 May 2026."
