• O Cebreiro 🇪🇸🥾

    June 6 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Today I walked from Villafranca del Bierzo to O Cebreiro, one of the iconic stages of the Camino. I'd heard plenty about the climb and expected it to be a tough day, but to my surprise I felt strong all the way up.
The stats tell part of the story: nearly 1,000 metres of climbing, almost 40,000 steps, and over 5 hours of walking time. Yet I only stopped three times on the ascent, and those were just to take photos.
Reaching O Cebreiro felt special. Not because I conquered the mountain, but because I realised how far I've come since starting in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. The Camino has quietly made me stronger than I knew.
Tonight I'm sitting in Galicia, waiting to check into my albergue, feeling great. Not just of today's climb, but of the whole journey so far. Sometimes it's important to stop and reflect what you've achieved before focusing on the next destination.
    Buen Camino!
