    Malaysia

    June 16, 2017 in Malaysia

Malaysia is a country of contrasts. People living in bamboo huts coexist with those living in parts of Kuala Lumpur that resemble Manhattan. Malaysia consists of two separate parts, West and East Malaysia, separated by South China Sea. The Western part is more developed, and is perfect for seaside vacations, trekking and diving. It is advised that the travelling through this area of Malaysia is taken care by buses, online tickets can be taken from https://www.redbus.my that are cheaper and cleaner. Meals are also often included in the ticket price.
Here are some backpacking places to hike to:

Langkawi, officially known as Langkawi the Jewel of Kedah (Malay: Langkawi Permata Kedah), is an archipelago of 104 islands in the Andaman Sea, some 30km off the mainland coast of north-western Malaysia. The islands are a part of the state of Kedah, which is adjacent to the Thai border. On 15 July 2008, Sultan Abdul Halim of Kedah had consented to the change of name to Langkawi Permata Kedah in conjunction with his Golden Jubilee Celebration. The Paradise Island in the north of the country, offers the best palm-and-beach resort options with sunbathing, swimming, watching monkeys and riding bicycles in the jungles.

Kuala Lumpur, officially the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, or more commonly called KL is the national capital of Malaysia as well as its largest city. Being rated as an Alpha world city, Kuala Lumpur is the only global city in Malaysia which covers an area of 243 km2 (94 sq mi) and has an estimated population of 1.73 million as of 2016.[7] Greater Kuala Lumpur, also known as the Klang Valley, is an urban agglomeration of 7.25 million people as of 2017. The capital and the biggest city of Malaysia, has lots to offer. A visit to Perdana Botanical Garden, Kuala Lumpur Bird Park (the zoo without a single cage, since the whole territory is covered with a net), downtown gardens with kids swimming pools, Petronas twin tower and local markets, is a must.
