📍Lake Atitlan, Guatemala

Lake Atitlan is a bit of a juxtaposition in my opinion. It's got super serene waters, incredible sunrises, and beautiful greenery, but then the towns surrounding it are loud, chaotic, ramshackle, and sometimes hippy. BUT boy oh boy, those lake views were worth coming here.

Highlight was getting a boat across to another town to take on the 13 metre jump into the lake (Adam, not me, obviously). You can hear the worry in my voice as I watched my travel partner hurtle towards the water, which was deemed scarier than doing a skydive. Terrifying. Also watched someone lose a go-pro jumping in and get charged $200 "just to look" for it unsuccessfully. Also terrifying.Read more
