It's a BIG day for the Kinloch-Watts (still working on future double-barrelling with Adam)... We're off to backpack through Latin America for four months, and hoping to create a lifetime of stories. I'm also using it as a chance to brush up on my Spanish, so if I don't come back sounding like a native I'll be *furious* (only semi kidding).

We're excited, nervous, and already slightly exhausted, after packing up our house and saying goodbye to friends and family, who we'll miss SO much it makes me feel a bit sick. I've started this travel account so I don't spam my pals with annoying backpacking posts, and also so I can keep my comms brain active with written details about our experiences whilst away.

Stop two - the New York layover

Okay, we've had a small glitch. A 5 hour delay on our London flight meant we had no food on the plane, we landed at about midnight to JFK to a MASSIVE queue at customs and then we've had to kill a few hours on the floor as there are no compensation hotels available. *But* the good news is that our connecting flight to Argentina was delayed 13 hours too, so we're hoping we can scoot off on that in a few short hours.
