Had a fun day at this event, with people dressed in all sorts of gear. We got positive comments that we both looked fabulous, Johns coat was often admired and one woman said to her child, "ooh look, there's a beautiful solar system" about my outfit. It was tricky when I needed the toilet though! So we came back to the van and I spotted a flash of pink on a gatepost, I jokingly wondered if it was one of my roses fallen off my costume. John went to have a look, and sure enough, it was!
There was an interesting guy selling work, which was in some ways similar to John's. It was called Back Yard Engineering. He was lamenting the fact he hadn't sold anything, but when we saw him later in the day, he'd just sold his star piece, a £3k eagle.
Really enjoyed seeing everyone's costumes. Medieval and woodland nature themes were a dominant feature, but there were all sorts. Including a Japanese suit of armour made from mecanno pieces.
At the end of the day I was lamenting the fact that I'd lost another rose from my outfit, a blue one this time, and that I'd used up all the fabric, so couldn't make another. Once again, near the van ... there it was on the ground! My luck was in. Shoddy work(wo)manship on the costume making front, I'd say. 😳
