The Lonely Road

After leaving the petroglyph site the road actually started to get lonely. The road was a ribbon of highway, heading towards the hills. I pulled over a few times to stretch my legs and enjoy the view. The thing I noticed is how completely quiet it was. Maybe some birds, but quiet.

I was going to stop in Austin, but at 5:30pm on a Sunday night there was not much going on. So I kept going. I did stop at a Pony Express waystation. Not much to see, but a chance to stretch my legs.

I am listening to Sue Monk Kidd's book "The Book of Longings" and almost finished it on the way to Eureka. I have about 30 minutes left for tomorrow. I arrived in Eureka at about 7pm and found the SureStay hotel without problems.Weiterlesen
