Pentedattilo

After I had my normal white knuckle ride out of the city, I headed southeast to Pentedattilo. My car is a brand I have never heard of'--SEAT? The model is an Ibiza. It's fine and was cheap to rent.

Pentedattilo is a ghost town, but there are plans to renovate it, like the sassi in Matera. I parked down the hill and walked about 300 yards uphill to the town. There are ruins of old houses all sorts of structures all up and down the hill. There was a shop that was open, and a restaurant that was closed. I think I saw a B&B, too. The rest was ruins. I walked and climbed all over for about 45 minutes. The church was not open, but it looked usable. The views of the sea were great, as well.Read more
