Embarkation day!

I checked out at 10:30ish, and called a Lyft. My driver was from near Paraguay...does that mean Uruguay? She was difficult to understand! She got lost on the way to the port and I got a tour of downtown Long Beach. It is actually cute. I may stay down here next time.

The boarding process was a lot of lines as usual. I met a pair of friends from Chicago and another couple from Olympia. It took about 30 minutes from dropping off my bag to being on board.

I wandered around the ship for a while. This ship is very nicely decorated. There seems to be more outdoor tables than other ships I have been on. I got a margarita at the theater bar and sat outside.

I met Mark on deck 11, and we caught up. He got on board at 10ish and had spent the last few days in Long Beach. We hung out until the announcement came on that rooms were ready. I went to find my room.Leer más
