Cannes

Cannes, a resort town on the French Riviera, is famed for its international film festival. Its Boulevard de la Croisette, curving along the coast, is lined with sandy beaches, upmarket boutiques and palatial hotels. It’s also home to the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, a modern building complete with red carpet and Allée des Étoiles – Cannes’ walk of fame.

The Cannes Film Festival (French: Festival de Cannes) until 2003 called the International Film Festival (Festival international du film), is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France, which previews new films of all genres, including documentaries, from all around the world. Founded in 1946, the invitation-only festival is held annually (usually in May) at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.[1] The festival was formally accredited by the FIAPF in 1951.
It was another rainy day we braved the elements and went to the old town - walking around the first hour and a half in rain. Then a slight reprieve and some cappuccino’s revived us. Not much to see really. A lot of high end stores and fancy clothes, shoes, glasses, watches, work out gear (wooden weights / bikes) all the designer names.
