We got one nice day on the Côte d’Azur aka Blue Coast and took advantage of it. Up early(ish), rented bikes to ride along the 20km bike and walking path along the Med. heavy use early on, it was packed with walkers, runners, casual and racing bikes. It started out in the low 60s (about 15C) then warmed up to mid 70s (22C). Good breeze coming off the Med and just a few wispy clouds in the sky. We rode down to the east port, spun around at the end of the trail (not wanting to ride the hills on the road), then went back towards the airport.

Stopped to walk through old town, and let Daisy stretch her body after being jammed in the pack. Beautiful market day, we wish we could have bought our provisions there but they probably wouldn’t last well in the pack, or at all if Daisy got to them!

A quick PB&J picnic in the Parc de Carras, next to the Haliotis environmental center, then return the bikes. Back to Airbnb for naps, followed by a walk on the stony beach. Best answer I could find on the stony vs sandy beach is 2 part:
    1) Wave action, the more waves push and drive the beach, the more it will break down
    2) Source material, east coast of US has a lot of lime stone, shells, and coral which get crushed into sand easily. Marble or granite rocks from the mountains will take longer to break down
