An afternoon in Gourdon

Gourdon is the nearest town to our little hamlet of La Plaine, about a 10 minute drive away. It's perched on a hill, an ancient town with a fortified gate, narrow streets and half-timbered houses, and a view for miles from the top of the hill. We stumbled across a glorious empty church, charming gardens, closed shops and restaurants (normal for Monday, we learned), and finally found an open pizza place for our first meal out in France!
