San Gimignano, Tuscany

We took a lovely drive through the Tuscany countryside and got a great history lesson... from the fall of the Roman Empire through World War 2. We passed a cemetery dedicated to the American soldiers who died in Italy. It was All Saints Day (or Tutti i Santi) a bank holiday, so the cemetery was closed. The medieval town of San Gimignano was a beautiful, fortified city with lots of amazing wine, truffles, and olive oil from the region.Read more
