Chitwan National Park

We started in the AM with a canoe ride which led onto a jungle walk. We actually saw a rhino within two minutes of starting out. It was drinking from the river, then got in and swam right past our canoe.

We passed numerous crocodiles both in and out of the water as we canoed down the river. One was particularly close but didn't seem at all bothered by us.

We then saw another rhino grazing (see pic).

We also saw some monkeys, and loads of birds - kingfishers being among the most visually striking.

I also became quite attached (pun most definitely intended) to two leeches.Read more
