Distance from Léon to Villar De Mazarife 21kms

Leaving León behind on a beautiful morning we made our way out of the city and onto the wide dirt path. What a glorious walk with only a handful of pilgrims behind or up ahead the day was ours to enjoy. The frogs were croaking the rooster crowing the cuckoo cooing and lizards scurrying across the path as they heard us approaching. In some fields the rye had been cut and others it was a mass of green along with striking red poppies making it look like a picture postcard.
As the temperature soared to 29c we sought shade wherever we could and relaxed under an umbrella in the late afternoon at our albergue.
With a long day planned for tomorrow we leave the last of the plains behind and start the gradual climb towards the mountainous region.Lue lisää
