A stunningly beautiful day as we headed up to the highest point of the Camino (1515m). The ascent was steep and rocky for much of the way. We didn’t find it as tough as expected took it slowly and enjoyed the magnificent views and weather.
We stopped at Cruz de Ferro (a simple iron cross atop a weathered pole) a symbol of the pilgrim way of Saint James. We left our token (from home) at the pile of stones it was a special moment. Our village for the night is a single road town called Acebo a typical mountain village quaint stone houses with shingle roofs and views out over the valley below. Tomorrow it’s all downhill to Ponferrada leaving the mountain pass behind.Lue lisää
