Guru Rinpoche, the 2nd Buddha according to Nyingma Buddhism, brought Buddhism to Bhutan in the 8th century. It is said that Guru Rinpoche flew to the site of the monastery on the back of a tigress to subdue a local demon. He meditated here for 3 months. Tradition says the building materials were delivered on the backs of female celestial beings and their hair was used to anchor the monastery to the cliff... 🧐Meer informatie
