    According to local legends, the temple was built here in 7th century because 2 birds flew from the consciousness of a Tibetan Buddhist leader; the black bird landed on the site of Lhakhang Nagpo (Black Temple), the white bird on the site of Lhakhang Karpo (White Temple)
