Peterson to Wrangell, AK

We saw rough spots and smooth areas enroute with depths to over 1,000 feet. The weather is always rainy for the temperate rain forest that covers almost all the Inside Passage of Alaska with both highs and lows in the 50s. There was a guided hike to the top of nearby Mt Dewy, which features many muskeg bogs floating on water and mud over bedrock. Another tour took us to Petrograph Beach with 8,000 year old beach rock carvings. The Wrangell Museum was very impressive for a town of under 3,000 people.Read more
