18.12 Day 93 . . . The Pompidou Knocks

We woke late yet again, its so dark in the mornings here neither of us seem to be able to wake at a decent time. That being said I keep waking at about 3am and then going back to sleep . . . no idea why, perhaps just got quite a bit on my mind or still winding down.
We had both been awake for about 20 minutes, just enough time for Tre to have dashed to make us tea and return to bed, before there was a loud knocking at the front door, it sounded quite urgent. I was not in any state of attire to run to the door so Tre hopped out quickly, in her pink heart designed onesie, hair all over the place and no make up. I heard her reach the door and sound quite flustered, talking to a guy. I quickly realised as I had seen comments on Facebook that the local fire brigade the Pompidou’s had been doing the rounds collecting money for their calendar. It’s sort of a here is your calendar please give money, rather than would you like a calendar. Payment probably secure prompt attendance should you have a fire. The mafia could take a leaf out of their books. That being said I think there is something to be said for giving small gifts to those that work for our joint welfare, doctors and nurses, police, fire, posties and refuse collectors - all of those sorts.
I did giggle however when I asked Tre if they had sent a relatively good looking young fire-fighter to knock at the door, which she confirmed - and she had answered the door in the state she had . . . . . she was gutted 😂
Any how, both of us now up Tre cracked on with lots of house related bits and bobs, while I pinged even more emails to the estate agent and Notaire - these emails seem to be never ending.
We had also noticed on our return from the UK that when we got into Roxvanne there was a beeping noise which normally means one of her leisure batteries is low. As a result she needs to go on charge, so having chatted to Hannah I got Rox parked up near an external power socket and got her on charge. Hope that’s all it is!!
Tre then decided to cook the pork chops for dinner, at which point we discovered we couldn’t cut each singular one into two due to the bone within. It didn’t take long to decide we would have one fat one each - easy decision!
We both then sat and watched the World Cup Final which started off a little pants, but got decidedly better as it went on. Slightly gutted that France lost, bearing in mind our very new allegiance.
Football finished and dinner consumed we decided to watch a Netflix thing called 1899 - not our usual sort of thing, a bit weird but oddly quite compelling to keep watching. I think Tre missed the last 15 minutes as she fell asleep, which just means as normal I have to sit through something a second time before we can move on to the next episode . . . it’s a regular occurrence.
So another day finished . . . I guess Tre has fallen asleep dreaming about the Pompidou 😂Læs mere
