    Singapore

    2. december 2016, Singapore ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Singapore - this country and city stands for a great economy, super friendly people, cleanliness and a culture that's somewhere in between Asian and western. I guess that makes it a good country for my first ever trip to Asia: you can dive into the depths of Chinatown or Little India, but there are different “levels“ and once you're overwhelmed by those very different cultures it's only a short metro ride back to Singapore downtown, which could easily be a European metropolis.Læs mere

  • Marina Bay & Chinatown

    3. december 2016, Singapore ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

After arriving at 7 a.m. and enjoying the hotel's infinitely big breakfast buffet, the first thing my dad and I needed was some rest at the pool. But of course we didn't miss out on sightseeing either.
We started in Chinatown, buying a belt that was already broken after the first use and having some coconut and spring rolls. Strangely, beside a Buddhist temple we were also able to visite a Hindu one. Next, we took a walk from there over Raffles Place to the “Merlion“ and Marina Bay. We ended our day with a dinner at Boat Quay, with a great view on the slowly uplighting skyline.

  • Orchard Road vs. Little India

    3. december 2016, Singapore ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

Those two places within the same city could hardly be more different. While Orchard Road invites to high end shopping Zara over Victoria's Secret up to Chanel and Louis Vuitton, Little India basically sticks to its name: a lively (and a bit smelly) corner in Singapore, full of street markets, mosques, temples and people. However, there seemed to be an alarmingly small share: especially when walking back to the metro station (after a delicious dinner at a small Indian street restaurant), we passed through streets where I was the only female around.
Before heading back to the hotel, my dad and I took a short look at Gardens by the Bay.

  • Meeting the croco

    6. december 2016, Singapore ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

You could really feel the 90% humidity today - especially at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. But all the sweating was worth it. Between mangroves and mud did I not only see turtles, mudsliders, a hornbill, a giant eagle Abs countless monitor lizards, I even met a wild crocodile on my way through the reserve. Enjoy the pictures ;)Læs mere
