Indonesian Independence Day from the Netherlands in 1945. Music, life and laughter. As i walk in I saw 4 men attempting to reach the top of a greased palm tree, attempting being the key word. All around children are dancing in their school classes along with the adults who are doing traditional batik dances. The atmosphere us one of joy and as everyone from tuk tuk is here that's a lot of happy people! After a bit of lunch I head back in to see the kids are giving the tree a go and after much deliberation one reaches the top triumphantly, waves the flag and starts throwing down the goodies.Läs mer
