    The White Temple, Chiang Rai

    March 14, 2016 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

Wat Rong Khun, otherwise known as the White Temple, is a modern temple built by a prominent Thai architect who, on completion of the complex, would like it to be considered a great such as the Taj Mahal and Angkor Wat. I'm an uncertain of whether this will be the case or not as the inside of the temple depicts planes flying into the twin towers, superheros, fictitious characters, guns, bullets and various other portrayals. Nevertheless the temple is striking with it's architecture and gruesome themes (like teenage mutant ninja turtle head hanging from a tree), well worth a visit if just for the "WTF is happening!?" feeling whilst walking around.Read more
