Just arrived at Ivato airport after 24hrs of travel. Quite an experience getting through passport control. Settled in to our overnight stop.
Mitsinjo Project

Our first outing in Madagascar. We visited a community project and helped their reforestation efforts by planting 6 tiny trees. When they are grown up the lemurs will play in them.
AC TC on TourNot an issue here. We got soaked on our walk this morning. Annual rainfall is 1700mm (67 inches).

Very wet but ultimately rewarding trek to see babakoto (indri), diademed sifaka and brown lemurs. And Parson's chameleon. Unfortunately cameras got very, very wet.

Ranomafana NP Day 1

This morning we were lucky not to have any rain. We saw Golden bamboo, Eastern grey, red-fronted brown and red-bellied lemurs. Female red-bellied lemurs have white bellies.

Lovely hike along a canyon in Isalo NP. We saw Verraux's sifaka (just the one) and many more ring-tailed lemurs. At the end there was a lovely rock pool for a swim.
Isalo NP Day 2

Today we hiked up to the top of the park to view the sandstone rock formations. We also saw ring-tailed lemurs, a jewelled chameleon and a grass snake but have run out of photo slots.
