    Ross

    Ross, situated 120km north of Hobart, is a town full of colonial charm. The town was established in 1812, and was set up to protect Launceston-Hobart travellers from bushrangers. It developed into an important coach-staging post at the center of Tasmania's wool industry. The famous bridge at Ross, was built in 1836, and is the third oldest bridge in Australia. It enabled passage across the Macquarie River.
    Today the town of Ross has plenty of country feel, an array of accommodation and history to keep tourists satisfied.
