With 12 days to go before we go home, we decided to pay it forward by helping out on a property in Tenterfield where the fires have damaged a lot of her fences. So after 11 months sitting on our backsides, we are going to be working out butts off to try and mend as many of the fences that we can. So we finished the fences in a day, mostly just trees fallen on them and then repair the wires. That night, we were woken up by the horn on Sally's car, which was parked next to our caravan. When we looked out the windows, the car was on fire, and it was panic stations. We just threw everything that was outside the caravan including the dog fence, wound up the legs and dragged the caravan out of the way. Sally had rung the fire brigade and was hosing the car while we waited for the fireies to arrive. I don't think I have ever been so scared. Eventually, the firies arrived and put it out.
