    Lions Dryandra Woodland Village

    July 21, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

    Dryandra Woodlands
Lions Dryandra Woodlands Village is a well run accommodation with basic cabins that have beds, showers, toilets, stove, ovens, microwave and some even have air-conditioning both heating and cooling.
Equipped with full kitchen, crockery, pots and pans. A step up from tenting with 4 walls.

The travel was only 2hrs from Perth but totally ideallic woodland with 8 walk trails of varying distances and difficulty.

Upon arrival after check-in, we did a short 3.5km walk called the Kawana trail that took us to a granite outcrop and looped back. Beautiful and serene walk.
We then did the Barna Mia night tour. We saw Boodie, Mala, Bandicoot, Possums, Woylie and Bilby. The guide gave detailed explanation of the respective burrows, diet and distance the animals can travel in one night.
The second day was spent doing the Darwinia drive which was 23 km with 5 stops at information shelters. At the 5th stop we found orchids. After lunch back at the village, we then went on a 5km hike called the Woylie Trail. Another beautiful walk, peaceful and quiet and quite serene. We walked through mallet and wandoo woodlands, and other treescapes that were beautiful but we could not identify. After the Barna Mia tour, we spotted many burrows and even a Boodie mound.
We are already planning a definite revisit of the Dryandra Woodlands next September to see the orchids bloom.
