Boat trip along the Ganges

An early start for a sunrise boat trip on the Ganges. Our captain was a very old man and I was skeptical that we would go very far in his row boat. However he was as strong as an ox and rowed upstream using all his strength. We saw the early morning rituals, including one man gurgling the holy water. A dead cow floating by a boat and a few funeral pyres further along the riverbank helped make this a memorable boat trip.

I think we are both ready to move on to the next destination. India has been interesting.....Read more
