Day 41- Singing in the Rain

A full day of rain in Coimbra today with 3 times as much expected tomorrow!
So Doug and I strolled around the old city until I mentioned the words 'South Africa', and a voice behind us asked 'Who's from South Africa?', and our whole day changed direction meeting Alfredo from Klerksdorp, Johannesburg!
Alfredo lived in SA from age 8 and returned to Portugal in his late twenties and opened the restaurant we feasted at today! As you walked in you walked past the chef at the braai in the entrance- it was such a treat!
The rest of the day we siestas and watched the rain from our dorm window.
I donated my backpack to the Brotherhood that run the Pilgrim Albergue in the monastery and bumped into Maddie, Mike, Sky and Claudio there- a second treat for the day!Read more
