Highway 1 Carmel - Santa Cruz

I had planned to drive down Highway one from Monterey for 60 km to where it is damaged by a land slide in 2022 - I wanted to see the famous Big Sur. But approaching the highway I learned that it is now blocked only 11 miles south of Carmel due to more landslides that happened earlier this month! This, and the fact that on a Saturday with great weather everything is completely overrun by people, forced several changes of plans on me. I stopped at several places in Garrapata State Park at the coast, had a seafood lunch in Carmel, then north towards San Francisco all the way to Santa Cruz.
