I spent the last 2 days driving to and in Crater Lake. It’s a volcano that caved in to form a caldera. Over the millennia it filled with water. It’s the deepest and clearest lake in the US

I descend the Sierra Nevada on the West side. First visit of giant sequoias at Calaveras SP, then a series of gold rush towns: Murphys (now famous for wine), Columbia and Jamestown.
