    We had a great time in Bangkok. For the first few days we swam in a rooftop pool with a great view at our couchsurfer's place :)
    On the 5th of December is the birthday of the king. So like everyone else, we got ourselves a yellow t-shirt and enjoyed free food, drink, fireworks and Ali even got a free haircut!Read more

    After some hours hitch-hiking out of Bangkok towards the south of Thailand, we decided to stop in this calm city at the sea. We had some nice food at the night-market and saw the beach.     While hitch-hiking people seem to love taking selfies with us. But anyway we arrived quite quickly in Trang and had some relaxing days here. The only sight in the city is the clock tower. But it has a great night-market :) And we were lucky to watch the "Bike for Dad" event, which was held for the king's birthday.Read more

    We just stayed one night in Langu with our great couchsurfering host, Kris from Switzerland :) Together we had lots of great food and saw the seaside. Little crabs form there amazing pattern while digging their holes.
    And of course, we met many nice drivers whilst hitch-hiking again.

    We arrived here by ferry after many hours of hitch-hiking from Thailand. George-Town is famous for its food. But furthermore I enjoyed the many arty graffities everywhere. It was just fun to walk around and search for the next one. Plus, all the roads have some specially designed signs which explained where their names came from.Read more

    Shopping-Mall next to Shopping-Mall and inside each one you can find a lot of christmas decorations. Of course the Petronas Twin Towers are no exception. But it's warm enough outside to enjoy some refreshing waterfall next to the christmas tree.Read more

    We stayed in Singapore with couchsurfing hosts and friends and met a lot of people. There was still some time to see China Town, Marina Bay and a few shopping-malls.

    We arrived in Batam by ferry from Singapore (45min) and 1 day later left by ferry to Jakarta (28 hours). For the 1 night we stayed with our host Vany and with her friends we spent such a great time discovering Batam and trying out tasty Indonesian food!Read more

    After 28 hours on a ferry (which was quite comfortable with food and bed), we arrived in Jakarta and found our way to our couchsurfing host Chandra. With him, we went to a Dutch-Pancake-Night and could meet many of his friends. It was like a little christmas celebration :)
    The next day we went around Jakarta for sightseeing and more amazing food!

    As there was no sign of the traffic jam as we heard, we arrived in Bandung 10 hours earlier than expected. So we stayed our first night in a hotel, before moving to our couchsurfing host Reyner.

    Together with our couchsurfing host Santi, her husband and many friends, we celebrated New Year's. We went fishing and then barbequed the fishes and goose for a delicious first dinner in the new year at 1am. We walked around the small villiage and saw a little of in the city centre, too.Read more

  • Ijen Volcano

    We arrived by motorbike 3km away from the crater of Ijen volcano at 1am. After getting a ticket and a gas mask for the protection against the sulphur, we started to climb up. After we reached the top and climbed down the crater for another 30 min, we could see some of the famous blue fire. The smoke and the wind were against us. But after we climbed back up and the sun came up, the view over the crater was fantastic anyway and worth a sleepless night :)Read more

    During our 5 days in Bali we relaxed a lot. During the day we walked around Kuta, Legian or Denpasar and in the evening we watched sunsets at the beach. One day we visited the temple Tanah Lot.

    Our first stop in Australia was Darwin. It's the biggest city in the Northern Territory and we spent 3 days with our couchsurfing hosts Melodie, Dean and their huge dog Otto.     We got a ride share for around 1000km on our way to Alice Springs. The first day we saw huge termite hills and after we set up our tent at Daly Waters, we also wallabies all around us.

    After 1500km on the road we arrived in Alice Springs, which, with its 25 000 inhabitants, quite a big town. We did couchsurfing for 1 night with Derren, 3 girls and 3 dogs and went together to a bbq in the evening. Early the next morning we started our next hitch-hiking adventure to get to Ayers Rock.Read more

  • Uluru/Ayers Rock

    After two days of hitch-hiking we finally arrived in Yulara, the closest town to Ayers Rock.
    On the way we met a lot of interesting people, who took us for some kilometres. This included some drunk Aboriginies, with whom we broke down in their car. Instead of having working spare tyres in the back, they had some kangaroo tails and a lot of other things, too ;)
    There was also a big Indian family with 4 children, who are just travelling around Australia for a few months...
