After weeks of planning, I was ready to drive to Florida. The car was totally packed, with bicycle, golf clubs, and even snacks. While in new haven at my singing class, I received an email from lindsay that threw my plans into the air.

Would i come to Seattle and babysit in late January? Of course I would. But if I wasn't going to come back to Florida in January, I didn't want to drive. So, since I still had a plane reservation to key west, made back when I planned to make a quick visit, then return to Maine for Christmas with mom, I unpacked, re-packed and was on the plane 16 hours after getting Lindsay's email.

I stayed in Key West for a few days, then drove to Sanibel (six hours) to visit George and Lee Haines. Then back to Key West for Christmas with John and Roberta, Molly and Jeff, and Andrew and Ben. We played regular tennis, went to the beach, road bikes, did Karaoko, etc., etc.Read more

I spent the day looking at condos; eight, I think.
They were all pretty much down town, with an urban feel to them. There were several that were very nice. One of the appealing things about West Palm and Delray was that in almost every aprtment there was a keyboard or guitar or other idicia of musical activity and interest

I just can't decide if i want to live in the city, or in a golf community. The golf community could be dull. The city might be too un/dull. I walked aroind both towns in the early evening, and they were teeming with life. Mostly under 40's. Not terribly upscale but high energy.Read more

Golf Camp --Heron Bay, FL

I did a three day golf camp. The program was "golf made simple." 1.. Get your weight out to your front left side; 2. rotate your chest and hips toward the target. For all shots. 3. Have a distinct rhythm to the back swing and down stroke. ("Say 'tick tock'" as you swing). The instructor was very good. An jncredibly nice 31-year-old, bert. There was one other student, Hernan, a chilean who lives in mexico and manufactures carpets.

Sanibel, sarasota, and bonita springs

After golf camp, I drove back over to the West Coast, going first to Sarasota, where I looked at condos. There are some very nice places downtown. Sarasota is appealing because there is more of a "culture" scene than in ft myers-naples. It doesn't have the pulse that west palm has, but neither do I have the pulse of the average West Palmite.
I also looked at condos in high-end golf communities in bonita springs (naples area). They are pretty nice but might be a little "too-too" fancy.Read more

After being away for 4 weeks i'm back home for a week. My recital is next saturday, then i'm off to seattle for two weeks, where I will be babysitting lewis robert. This is a a Thanksgiving picture of him helping me overcome my rhythmic deficiences in preparation for my recital.Read more
