Landing in Paro
This was our first visit to a Dzong which is combination fortress, temple and city capital.
Starting the hike to the tigers nest.
The hike to the Tigers Nest was strenuous but along the entire trail there were prayer wheels and flags that reminded you this is a spiritual place and that it was a privilege to experience.
Just uphill from the National Museum of Bhutan in Paro the porters and guides load the horses and donkeys to begin our trek of the Druk Path which runs from Paro to Thimphu.
After about 7 km straight uphill we made it to our first camp near Jele Dzong. We started at 2,390 m and camp is at 3,480 m altitude.

Today was around a 10 km hike though mud to arrive at camp Jangchulakha which is a meadow at an altitude of 3,770 m.
